Fill it with a simple homemade nectar of one part white sugar to four parts water, without colouring or honey, and refresh it every few days, especially in warm weather. Hang it in a partly shaded spot so the nectar stays fresh for longer. Refilling takes only a minute.
Clean the feeder regularly with hot water and a bottle brush to prevent mould. Please note that hummingbirds are native to the Americas; in Europe this feeder mainly serves as a decorative garden accent and may attract other nectar-seeking visitors such as bees and butterflies.
